High Water Restrictions and "No Wake" Zones
Lake Summit has several “No Wake” zones and timeframes. There are four coves marked as “No Wake” zones at all times.
The entire lake is a “No Wake” zone on Sundays from 10:00am-12:15pm during the summer season.
In an effort to protect the lake shore and property on the lake, the LSPOA also has high water restrictions that trigger a “No Wake” standard on the entire lake. These restrictions have been necessary since the combination of high water and a boat wake causes potential damage to boat houses, sea walls and banks, boats inside their boathouses, and increases the likelihood of personal property being washed off the docks.
In an attempt to find the appropriate balance point between recreational and property concerns, the LSPOA has set the “No Wake” standard if the lake water level is 99’ or higher.
We ask all LSPOA members, their families and guests to please abide by these “No Wake” restrictions.
LSPOA officers and staff will attempt to inform ALL registered and visiting boaters of this restriction.
Property owners with renters are responsible for informing their tenants of the restrictions.
The lake level can be checked on the Green River website, https://greenrivernc.com/
A gauge and flag has been installed at the boat ramp to notify GRFD residents or fishermen in the case of a wake restriction.
